Delightful leather and jute toys designed by <a href="http://r20thcentury.com/artist_introduction.cfm?designer_id=38"target="_blank">Renate Müller</a> in the tradition of German toy makers since the 1800s. Developed for therapeutic use, this menagerie of animals was used for balance training and orthopedic exercises by mentally and physically handicapped children. The toys debuted at the Leipzip Trade Fair in 1967 and continued annually. Each year Müller added new personalities to the collection. In 1990, Müller took over the rights to her designs and continues to produce limited quantities of old and new designs.
